The Pearl Lotus Fund (Incorporated)
What we do

Collaborating, educating, rebuilding.

We help children in remote Nepalese communities get to school, by restoring safe buildings and providing the resources that keep them learning.

Safe places to learn.
School buildings

Safe places to learn.

Our earthquake-damaged school building remains unsafe for use. We organised for the Village Development Committee to engage engineers to assess the structure, recommend solutions and provide accurate costings.

The rebuild is projected at AU$73,000 and is now our central focus, with this year's fundraising dedicated to rebuilding.

A ten-year promise.
English books

A ten-year promise.

At the committee's request we began a ten-year English-language book programme, starting with 362 grade-one students: two books each, theirs to keep for good.

The local government has committed to funding half the cost from the second year, so each year reaches further than the last.

The everyday essentials of learning.
Resources & supplies

The everyday essentials of learning.

Alongside buildings and books, we support children with computers, education supplies, uniforms and the materials that make a daily difference for them and their teachers.

Neighbouring villages have also approached us for help, including requests for English books, library buildings and toilet blocks.

Help us reach further.

Every contribution, large or small, extends the reach of our work in Nepal.
